Extracts from a 2009 book titled Ireland's Hidden Diaspora: the 'abortion trail' and the making of a London-Irish underground, 1980-2000 by Ann Rossiter. Includes an introduction by the author, and a personal account of Rossiter's own 'back-street' abortion in London in the 1960s. The publication charts the experiences of members of the Irish Women's Abortion Support Group (IWASG) and the Irish Abortion Solidarity Campaign (Iasc) during the 1980s-2000 as they offered support to women travelling from the island of Ireland to access abortions in the UK.
